Fine Naturals Ltd was opened in the UK by Sally Kennedy after using Redbush (Rooibos) Mulch/ Top Dressing in her garden whilst living in Cape Town. In South Africa it is a tried and tested product, widely available in garden centres. Having identified it's potential as a natural slug and snail deterrent and aid to plant growth, Fine Naturals Ltd  now imports the product which is available in the UK market for the first time.

 Slugs and Snails

Slugs and snails are a massive problem for gardeners; and we all know their damaging and costly effects. Redbush Mulch is high in trace elements, one of which is copper, and this, combined with it's sharp and spiky consistency, makes it a highly effective  biological deterrent, and as a natural product  your garden's ecology is not damaged, leaving friendly  visitors such as birds and amphibians, unharmed.

With no dark moist crevices for slugs and snails to thrive in, it has proven to be an excellent way to combat infestation, with many customers commenting on how succesfull the application of Redbush has been in their gardens. Spreading Redbush Mulch around the plants you wish to protect from slugs and snails will create a defence which the pests will not cross, thus reducing damage to soft foliage,vegetable and bedding plants. Many customers have been delighted with the results when used around their Hostas.

Decorative and Attractive

Red Bush is a waste / by product of the tea manufacturing process and has been used in South Africa for many years. It is also known  for its lovely attractive organic look, colour, nutritional and water retention properties and can be used on plant pots and garden beds.

Very easy to apply - just add a 1cm to 2cm layer on top of your growing medium. After a few thorough waterings, Redbush forms a barrier that minimizes water loss and weed germination by creating a protective insulating layer above the soil.

High in trace elements and low in tannins,with a PH 5-5.5.  A 10 - 15% increase in plant growth has been observed by nurseries and gardening enthusiast. In summary Redbush is the ideal eco friendly way to protect and improve potplants, garden beds and seedlings
